The adaptive reuse will house a mix of commercial spaces, a cafe/bar at basement and ground level, and two high end residential units within existing and additional floors. One of the many challenges presented with this project was the integration of new elements that would harmonise with the well proportioned and ornate features of the existing building. The result is a simple, modern addition that picks up on the expressed column grid and balanced corner proportions.
As part of the redevelopment the building will be fully upgraded and many of the original features such as curved glass shopfront and ornate cast iron awning features will be reinstated.
