Gateway 1 Interiors

Internally, the integrated fit-out and circulation paths draw upon the radial nature of the façade and allow the conceptual ideas to be realised both inside and out.

As one moves past, the facade reveals its changing nature, bringing a sense of dynamism to what is otherwise a static object. The radial nature of the interior design is further enhanced by the integration of a sculptural interlinking stair from which the interior planning, ceiling and lighting design radiates.

At the rear, the Gateway building opens to provide northern sunlight and views to the primary social hub and interconnecting ribbon stair.

The Gateway Development on the corner of Stewart Avenue and Parry Street offers a unique integrated fit-out and architectural solution to a key site in the city. The site geometry to the corner was carefully considered and stylised to form two opposing curves. Each of these curves relate to a different circulation pattern; the curve to the street is a reaction to the movement of traffic, the curve to the inner section of the site relates to pedestrian circulation through the building. Viewed from the inside, the faceted curtain wall reads as a series of terracotta and glazed blades that peel open revealing different perspectives of the city beyond and establishing a unique internal working environment at a micro level.
